According to NPR, an Indian national teacher won the annual $1 million Global Teacher Award prize. The farm-village-based school teacher contributed to educating young adults(girls in particular), bring technology to the classroom, and empower the state curriculum with QR technology.
According to the source, the school teacher fought to stop the teenage female marriage and raised the female students’ school enrollment to 100%.
The teacher vouched to share 50% of his prize with the other nine best teacher prize contenders and use his money to improve and empower teachers’ and students’ education in India.
