In a city, Ameristar, in northern India, during the evening prayer on Saturday in a holy historic golden temple, a man in his twenties jumped over a railing fence to grab a sword near Guru Granth Sahib ( Sikh holy book).
A group of people caught him and dragged him outside the corridor. The person received a severe beating which resulted in his death.
The former chief minister of Punjab state tweeted, “Strongly condemn the horrific incident of attempted sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Darbar Sahib. Govt must get to the bottom of what led this man to act in such a despicable manner!”
